
SAMARTH is a capacity-building initiative supported by USAID and led by Family Health International, India Country Office, New Delhi.

Goal:
To improve the effectiveness of the response of the government and civil society for evidence-based HIV policy and programs in India
SAATHII's Roles in SAMARTH:
- Documenting and disseminating lessons learned in US Govt. supported programs using both print and web-based media
- Need-based technical assistance to USAID partners in India
- Technical assistance to selected State AIDS Control Societies and District AIDS Societies in US Govt. priority states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh
- Strengthening the capacity of NGOs and CBOs in the above states, primarily in the areas of documentation and program management
