  1. Documentation: Essential features of documentation, reporting, minuting meetings, agenda preparation and documentation needs for situational assessment

  2. Institutional Capacity Building: Interpersonal communication, leadership and project development

  3. Strategic Information: Documentation and dissemination of case studies, developing evidence-based proposals

  4. HIV/AIDS Policies: Overview of policies on HIV overview of policies and laws on sexuality, developing sensitization strategies for policy development

B. Modules developed for SHGs:

  1. Overcoming HIV/AIDS Stigma and Discrimination: Basic information about HIV/AIDS, myths and misconceptions that lead to stigma, care and support of PLHIV, and presentation by woman living with HIV/AIDS on stigma and discrimination towards PLHIV

  2. Community Mobilization: Importance of prevention, counseling and testing, and treatment, roles of SHGs in prevention, counseling & testing and treatment, places where counseling, testing, and treatment are provided in Karur, and referrals and linkages

C. Modules developed for RRC members:

HIV related Stigma and Discrimination: HIV/AIDS basic aspects, STIs and stigma and discrimination

D. Modules developed for UPIP:

Documentation of HIV/AIDS Programs: Documentation basics, documentation of good practices and case studies, strategic information, concept note development, writing technical papers and abstracts, incorporating graphs and tables in reports, making effective presentations, and techniques of dissemination

Success Stories:

  • One of the CBOs that participated in our proposal writing workshop further sought our technical assistance in developing a renewal proposal for MSM interventions in Pondicherry that they were submitting to APAC-VHS, a USAID partner. Their proposal has since been renewed.

  • Based on the year 1 experiences of SAATHII-SAMARTH, the Project Director of Tamil Nadu AIDS Control Society requested SAATHII to develop and conduct a three- day workshop for positive networks and community based organizations on proposing projects for running community care centers and targeted interventions.
