ASLP is an initiative of UNDP-NACO and is being implemented by SAATHII in four districts of Rajasthan, four districts of Odisha, and in four northeastern states of India- Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Nagaland. The project aims to develop a comprehensive socio-legal protection package and improve access to the schemes and entitlements available. The goal of the ASLP initiative is to accelerate universal access to health and human rights for People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and most-at risk populations, such as men who have sex with men, transgender people, injecting drug users, and female sex workers.
- Assessing the pre-intervention and post-intervention status of socio-legal protection for marginalized populations (specifically PLHIV and most at-risk populations)
- Increasing access to public services and government schemes for PLHIV and most at-risk populations Ensuring legal aid and legal protection for marginalized populations (specifically PLHIV and most at-risk populations) at the state level and in the focal districts
- Decreasing society’s stigma and increasing social protection for PLHIV and most at-risk populations at the state level and in the focal districts
- Facilitating replication and scale-up of socio-legal protection and inclusive programming for PLHIV and most at-risk populations through IEC, documentation, archival and dissemination of best practices
